AI Prompt Engineer

Overview

The AI Prompt Engineer role at Staffworx is a future-focused position (Q2-Q3 2026) aimed at designing, optimizing, and operationalizing prompt-driven and agentic AI systems. This role involves architecting LLM-powered workflows that connect people, data, and intelligent systems in production-ready environments.

The Role

This position is divided into several core areas:

• Prompting, Reasoning & Agentic Systems: Design, test, and optimize prompts for frontier models such as GPT-4.x/5, Claude 3+, Gemini, LLaMA, DeepSeek and others. Apply advanced techniques including Chain-of-Thought, ReAct, Tree-of-Thoughts, and more for self-reflection, critique, debate prompting and multi-agent collaboration. Architect workflows using frameworks like AutoGen, CrewAI and LangGraph.
• GenAI Application Engineering: Integrate LLMs into applications with tools like LangChain, LlamaIndex, Haystack, and design high-performance Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines. Develop APIs, microservices and serverless GenAI workflows for scalable, secure deployment.
• ML / LLM Engineering & LLMOps: Work across AI/ML platforms such as Azure ML, AWS SageMaker, Vertex AI, and others. Deploy and manage vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus, FAISS, ChromaDB, pgVector) and implement operational practices with tools like Weights & Biases and MLflow.
• Deployment, Performance & Infrastructure: Containerize and deploy GenAI workloads using Docker, Kubernetes and other managed environments. Optimize system performance via caching, batching, and fallback strategies whilst ensuring cost, latency, and reliability optimization.

Experience & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have strong Python skills and hands-on experience with the modern GenAI ecosystem. Key competencies include:

• Deep understanding of LLM behavior, prompt optimization, embeddings, and retrieval strategies.
• Experience with vector databases and semantic search systems.
• Proficient in Linux environments, containers, and cloud infrastructure.
• Excellent communication skills, creativity, and systems-thinking.

Beneficial skills include experience with PromptOps, LLM observability, responsible AI frameworks, and production deployment of open-source LLMs.
