Role Overview

The Coordinator of Resource Centers is a vital part of the Equity & Inclusion division at St. John's University. This role advances a welcoming and affirming campus climate for students of all cultural backgrounds and gender identities.

Essential Functions

  • Manage daily operations of the Multicultural and LGBTQ+ Center including budget, space, and staffing.
  • Develop data-informed assessment tools for program impact and student outcomes.
  • Prepare annual reports and contribute to strategic planning within Equity & Inclusion.
  • Design and facilitate culturally relevant programming, workshops, and trainings.
  • Collaborate with campus stakeholders to promote equity-centered policies.
  • Lead communication efforts via correspondence, web updates, and social media.
  • Plan campus-wide educational initiatives and support programs for LGBTQ+ students.
  • Maintain documentation and comply with reporting requirements.
  • Participate in university-wide committees, task forces, and working groups.
  • Foster relationships with external organizations and community resources.

Competencies & Environment

Strong understanding of cultural humility, anti-racism, gender, sexuality, and social justice. Excellent communication, program assessment, collaborative leadership, and interpersonal skills are essential. The position involves managing federal work study students and graduate assistants and requires some evening/weekend work for campus events.

Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education, Social Justice, Gender Studies, Ethnic Studies, Counseling or related field with 1–3 years experience in student or multicultural affairs. Preferred: Master’s degree and experience facilitating equity and LGBTQ+ inclusion workshops.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary is $55,000. St. John’s University also offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, life insurance, tuition remission, and more.
