The Role of a Business Development Rep Associate
Square is seeking high-energy, motivated professionals with strong business insight and natural sales instincts to join our Restaurant or Generalist team. You will be instrumental in building our Sales Development organization by outbounding to prospective sellers and showcasing the value of Square for their businesses. As a Business Development Rep Associate, you will collaborate with our Sales team to identify new merchants that align with the Square ecosystem.
As the primary point of contact, you will gain a deep understanding of our merchants' diverse needs and become an expert in Square's products and services, enabling businesses to grow. Your persuasive personality and passion for success will drive results, as you document and track qualified opportunities for the Account Executive team. You will employ a data-driven approach to outbound sales, incorporating prospecting, email communication, and calling at scale.
This position serves as a crucial starting point for numerous growth opportunities within the Square team. Our program is designed to facilitate career advancement in your chosen BDR direction, allowing you to increase your on-target earnings by leveling up within the organization before moving into a new role.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse pipeline of businesses and prioritize outreach to accelerate sales cycles.
- Reach out to businesses at scale through cold calling, emailing, and social selling.
- Promote urgency through a solutions-based sales approach, identifying business challenges and providing targeted value on how Square can help.
- Grow your sales career through frequent developmental opportunities and mentorship from the Account Executive team.
- Consistently attain and exceed your monthly quotas.
Qualifications
- A desire to grow your career in sales.
- A BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Personal leadership, authenticity, team player mentality, high energy, and curiosity.
- Enthusiasm for developing sales skills through cold calling.
- Comfort with operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Residence within 50 miles of the posted office location.
