Position Overview

The Cloud Operations Engineer I at SpryPoint will work hands-on in our AWS environments to provision, tune, and troubleshoot systems. Collaborating with Service Delivery and Product teams, you will ensure stable, secure, and optimized environments for client projects. This role involves responding to requests, performing maintenance, automating workflows, and using AI tools for enhanced efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Support environment provisioning, integrations, access, and troubleshooting through Jira Service Management.
• Provision and maintain AWS environments using Elastic Beanstalk, EC2, ECS, RDS PostgreSQL, Aurora Serverless v2, DynamoDB, Route 53, VPC networking, and S3.
• Investigate performance issues using observability tools and Linux-level debugging.
• Assist project teams in onboarding, testing, and production go-lives.
• Automate operational workflows using Python or Bash and maintain documentation in Confluence.
• Apply security best practices and participate in maintenance and backup exercises.
• Use AI tools to speed up troubleshooting and improve operational efficiency.

Required Skills

• Experience with AWS services (EC2, Elastic Beanstalk, ECS, etc.).
• Strong troubleshooting skills in Linux environments.
• Experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
• Scripting skills in Python and Bash.
• Clear communication and a collaborative approach.
• Interest in using AI tools for operational efficiency.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with observability and monitoring platforms.
• Familiarity with NGINX and reverse proxy configuration.
• Understanding of cloud cost considerations and environment optimization.
