About Spring Health and the Role

As a Security Engineer II, you will join our Security Operations & Engineering team to enhance our enterprise security systems and automate processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, maintain, and enhance security controls.
  • Automate workflows to reduce manual detection and response tasks.
  • Refine detection rules to identify and remediate threats.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and incident reviews.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for secure integration.
  • Create and maintain documentation, playbooks, and RCAs.

Success Metrics

You will be successful by improving detection times, reducing vulnerabilities in production, driving efficient security processes, and fostering strong collaboration across teams.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional security engineering or operations experience.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security features.
  • Strong scripting skills, preferably in Python.
  • Hands-on incident response and security automation experience.
  • Understanding of security principles, best practices, and compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with threat hunting and security certifications (e.g., AWS Security Specialty, CISSP).
  • Experience leading incident postmortems or security exercises.
  • Contributions to open source security projects.

Compensation and Benefits

The target base salary range is $120,000 - $150,250 along with stock options, comprehensive health benefits, 401(k) match, generous paid leave, parental leave, and other valuable benefits including professional development reimbursements and more.
