Job Description

About the Senior Product Designer - Platform Design Role at Spotify

The Platform Design team at Spotify is dedicated to fueling innovation through design. Our mission extends beyond merely building tools; we actively shape world-class ecosystems and craft high-impact solutions that empower organizations to thrive in an increasingly complex digital world. As a key member of our Shipping Our Expertise (SOE) team, you will be instrumental in a significant strategic shift for Spotify, productizing the 'Spotify way' of working into a catalog of emerging SaaS products. This role offers a unique opportunity to build the future of how leading software development companies, from industry giants to agile startups, operate, collaborate, and scale globally.

This is a distinctive hybrid role, bridging deep Product UX, Brand identity, and Product Marketing. You will not only apply our established build systems but also actively compose the visual language and user experience for Spotify's future catalog of externally shipped software. The goal is to establish a new professional standard for software utilized by diverse customer types worldwide, including cross-functional partnerships, R&D teams, company managers, and operational functions.

What You'll Do

  • Frame complex problem spaces and define the design strategy for our emerging SaaS catalog, thoroughly exploring multiple solutions to arrive at a high-conviction recommendation.
  • Own the design quality and cohesion of sophisticated user journeys, ensuring our product UX and visual language are consistently seamless, inspiring, and world-class.
  • Contribute to and evolve a comprehensive design system that supports a growing catalog of external-facing products, skillfully balancing existing Spotify paradigms with fresh, innovative visual instincts.
  • Craft intuitive experiences tailored for a wide spectrum of customer types, ranging from executive decision-makers to technical specialists, ensuring our software effectively solves complex organizational challenges.
  • Expertly represent the design field in crucial product rituals and high-stakes collaborator forums, including studio-wide All Hands meetings.
  • Leverage AI-assisted workflows and tools to expedite idea generation and rapid prototyping, facilitating faster iteration while maintaining a high bar for craft, clarity, and human-centered outcomes.
  • Partner at the highest levels with Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams to collaboratively define strategic direction and challenge the team's understanding of complex problem spaces.
  • Empower and mentor other designers, fostering a culture of high-caliber design strategy and exceptional execution.

Who You Are

  • You possess incredible aesthetic taste and design instincts, meticulously 'sweating the details' of visual design while remaining firmly grounded in functional, high-utility product UX.
  • You demonstrate a clear understanding of how to translate the core energy of the Spotify brand into a professional SaaS context that feels Alive, Human, and Meaningful.
  • You have a proven track record of successful cross-functional partnerships within complex product environments, such as scaled tech companies, platform organizations, or leading agencies.
  • You have valuable experience in product marketing and are proficient with content management systems (ideally Webflow or similar) to effectively articulate brand stories and product value propositions.
  • You approach projects with a comprehensive mentality, consistently delivering solutions that simplify intricate workflows for diverse user groups.
  • You excel at sharing critical information across various teams and can effectively support your ideas with clear rationale and data-driven insights.
  • You are committed to continuous professional growth, adapting seamlessly to the fast-paced shifts and evolving demands of the global SaaS landscape.

Where You'll Be

This role is based in London (UK) or Stockholm (Sweden). We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! While there will be some in-person meetings, this position still allows for significant flexibility to work from home.
