Engineering Manager II, Personalization

The Personalization team at Spotify makes deciding what to play next easier and more enjoyable for every listener. We aim to deeply understand music and podcasts to provide excellent recommendations, keeping the world listening. Our products, used by hundreds of millions daily, include 'Home', 'Search', 'Discover Weekly', and 'Daily Mix'. We are a diverse team of technologists, product insight specialists, designers, and product managers across Boston, New York, Stockholm, and London.

We are seeking a passionate Engineering Manager II, Personalization to lead a high-performing team focused on multi-objective, multi-stakeholder recommendations within Spotify playlists. This role supports multiple services accessed by half a billion listeners, with strict scalability and latency requirements.

• Experienced in developing and growing people, with a proven track record in leading, coaching, or mentoring individuals and teams.
• Passionate about software engineering best practices and impactful at solving large-scale technical challenges.
• Proven experience working in an agile development environment with complex and ambitious business requirements.
• Committed to building capabilities that ensure a great, safe, and trusted experience for both internal customers and global Spotify users.
• Demonstrated experience leading software engineering teams or projects, including mentoring junior engineers and setting technical direction.
• Skilled in the design of robust software systems.
• Adept at working towards strategic goals in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Where You'll Be

Spotify offers flexible work arrangements. For this role, you can be based anywhere within the North America region where Spotify has a work location. The team primarily operates within the Eastern Standard time zone for collaborative purposes.
