About the Role
Join Spotify's Financial Engineering platform team as a Backend Engineer, where you'll be instrumental in owning and evolving the financial booking infrastructure. This mid-level role offers hands-on experience with business-critical platforms, helping finance teams ensure accurate book closure and scale Spotify’s global business.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain backend services and data pipelines for financial booking and reporting.
- Develop systems that move and transform financial data across internal platforms and enterprise finance tools.
- Contribute to the design, implementation, and operation of reliable, production-grade systems.
- Partner with engineers, product managers, and finance stakeholders to deliver accurate, auditable outcomes.
- Participate in operational ownership, including monitoring, debugging, and improving system reliability.
- Learn and apply financial and accounting domain knowledge to enhance platform quality.
Who You Are
- Strong programming background, preferably in Java or Scala, with experience in backend systems.
- Proven ability to build or support production services and data pipelines, emphasizing reliability and correctness.
- Comfortable working with structured data and designing robust data models.
- Interested in finance and accounting concepts, even without prior domain experience.
- Clear communicator and effective collaborator with teammates and cross-functional partners.
