Project Coordinator Natural Resources and Terrestrial Field Ecology Management
Spheros Environmental is seeking a Project Coordinator to support project teams and managers in achieving client goals, meeting deadlines, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. This role involves applying technical knowledge and experience to assist with biological resource studies, data collection, quality assurance, reporting, and client coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Admin
- Assist with project setup, identifying potential errors in contracts, budgets, and planning.
- Facilitate team communication, including scheduling and field logistics.
- Proactively contribute to team efforts and assist colleagues.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Project Management
- Ensure timely completion of tasks, adapting to evolving project needs and priorities.
- Understand project schedules, planning, and staffing to add value to Project Managers.
- Assist with logistical plans, project invoices, collections, and purchase orders.
- Identify budget overruns and ensure contract adherence for fiscal project management.
- Produce high-quality work aligned with client contracts and project financial health.
- Communicate proactively, professionally, and clearly with a positive demeanor.
- Monitor multiple project progress, track deliverables, and implement schedule-tracking processes.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to delegate tasks and ensure resource capacity meets demands.
- Ensure deliverables comply with regulations, standards, and best practices.

- Support standardization of field data collection methodologies and protocols.
- Maintain expertise in a natural resource area (botany, herpetology, avian ecology, wetlands, etc.), management protocols, and relevant research.
- Stay updated on regulations, requirements, and best practices.
Client Service
- Communicate professionally and promptly with colleagues.
- Participate in meetings, take notes, and provide project status updates.
- Assist with the preparation and review of environmental impact analyses and technical reports.
Qualifications
- 3+ years in biology, ecology, botany, or related fields.
- Relevant experience with natural resources studies, environmental permitting for restoration, renewable energy, utilities, or municipalities.
- Familiarity with state and federal environmental regulations (FESA, CESA, CEQA, CWA, and NEPA).
- 1-2 years of project coordinator or related experience.
- BS in biology, ecology, botany, or related discipline, and/or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, SharePoint, ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, and a willingness to learn new software.
