Sr. HVAC Engineer - Critical Infrastructure

Role Overview

As a member of the construction and infrastructure team, you will design, build, and activate some of the world’s most technically advanced manufacturing facilities. You will serve as the subject matter expert on HVAC, compressed air, piping, dust collection, and other critical fluid systems at HQ in Hawthorne, CA. Your role involves design, analysis, testing and manufacturing of fluid system elements.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead fluid/HVAC components across campus, including compressors, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, and dust collection systems.
• Perform CAD modeling and design.
• Conduct fluid analyses for pressure balance and component design.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet production and operational requirements.
• Ensure manufacturable and reliable designs with production team support.
• Assist with material selection, sizing, and procurement.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of professional experience with fluid components such as valves, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, etc.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Master’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• Hands-on experience with fluid handling systems.
• Experience with data acquisition equipment and test instrumentation.
• Proficiency in HVAC systems and air ducting.
• Experience in NX or other CAD packages using GD&T principles and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Familiarity with structural analysis, pressurized structures, and lightweight aerospace structures.
• Ability to work independently.

Additional Requirements

Willingness to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay range for this role is approximately $125,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year. Total rewards package includes long-term incentives, stock options, bonuses, comprehensive medical benefits, 401(k) plan, paid leave, and various perks.
