RF and Network Analysis Engineer Regulatory Starlink

At SpaceX, we leverage our expertise in rockets and spacecraft to deploy Starlink, the world’s most advanced broadband internet system. Starlink is the largest satellite constellation in the world, delivering fast and reliable internet globally. In this role, you will design, build, test, and operate simulation models for regulation compliance and RF network performance.

Responsibilities

  • Support technical analyses on radio frequency interference and satellite spectrum coordination.
  • Model operational topology and hardware for Starlink and similar satellites.
  • Simulate various regulatory and geographic scenarios including RF link budgets and constellation growth.
  • Analyze network and user experience impacts based on simulation results.
  • Provide regulatory recommendations and advocacy support to business development.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or other engineering discipline.
  • Experience in MATLAB, Python, C++ or similar tools for RF systems simulation.
  • 1+ years experience in RF/antenna domain research, design, or regulatory work.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Understanding of satellite hardware and orbital mechanics.
  • Experience with Visualyse and modeling large non-geostationary constellations.
  • Knowledge in satellite network simulation development and RF link budgets.

Additional Requirements

Ability to work extended hours or weekends to meet mission critical deadlines.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation varies based on level, with RF Engineer Level I ranging from $122,500 to $145,000 per year and Level II from $140,000 to $170,000 per year. In addition to base salary, employees may receive stock options, long-term cash awards, bonuses, comprehensive healthcare, retirement benefits, paid time off, and other employee perks.

ITAR Requirements

Applicants must meet U.S. Government export regulations requirements (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) or be eligible to obtain necessary authorizations.
