IT Systems Engineer, DevOps

Overview

SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to enable human life on Mars. As an IT Systems Engineer, DevOps, you will design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure, and ensure system reliability and scalability.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines.
• Automate deployment and monitoring processes.
• Collaborate with development and engineering teams.
• Monitor system performance and optimize resources.
• Maintain logging, monitoring, and alerting systems.
• Enforce best practices in code building and release management.
• Implement automation tools and frameworks.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent with 3+ years in DevOps/SRE.
• Experience with Linux servers in physical, virtual, or containerized environments.
• Familiarity with code hosting and CI tools like Bitbucket, GitHub, GitLab, Bamboo, and Jenkins.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience with automated monitoring tools (Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Scripting skills using Bash, Python, Groovy, etc.
• Expertise on containerized applications using Docker or Kubernetes.
• Experience with automation deployment tools like Ansible or Chef.
• Solid grasp of version control and release management concepts.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment.

Additional Requirements

• Willingness to work extended hours or weekends as needed.
• Ability to pass Air Force background checks for Cape Canaveral and Vandenberg.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range is $120,000.00 - $160,000.00/year. This position includes benefits such as company stock options, comprehensive medical coverage, 401(k), paid vacation and holidays, among other perks.
