Overview
SpaceX is on a mission to advance human spaceflight and enable future missions to Mars. As a GNC Engineer Dragon, you will contribute to the design, optimization, and analysis of trajectories for both crew and cargo missions.
Responsibilities
- Perform trajectory design, optimization, and dispersion analysis for Crew and Cargo Dragon missions.
- Implement new software or algorithms for mission-specific capabilities.
- Select flight constants and guidance parameters.
- Perform post-flight data review and correlate with analyses.
- Manage mission operations support and test flight software.
- Ensure compliance with contractual mission requirements and interface with NASA.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or physics.
- 1+ years of experience in orbital mechanics, classical dynamics, modeling and simulation.
- Experience with C++ and/or Python.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Advanced degree in physics or related engineering field.
- 2+ years professional experience with orbital mechanics, dynamics, and simulation.
- Experience with launch vehicle or spacecraft systems.
- Ability to solve complex problems independently and in teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Requirements
Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
