Job Description
About Spacebourne
Spacebourne is an aerospace technology company building AI-powered solutions for the satellite communications industry. Our team includes leaders from Tesla, Apple, Astra, and the U.S. Marine Corps, and we're tackling one of the most pressing challenges in the growing space economy: ensuring reliable satellite communications as orbital congestion increases. We are currently developing a SaaS platform that leverages machine learning to deliver predictive RF interference insights for satellite operators and ground station providers.
About the Role
We're seeking a graduate student through our Delta-V Scholar Program to support software deployment efforts for our core product. You'll work alongside our engineering and operations teams to help prepare our platform for production environments, gaining hands-on experience at the intersection of aerospace, AI, and cloud-based software delivery.
You will be working directly under a PhD (Our Co-Founder/CTO).
This is an academic internship. We prefer applicants who can receive academic credit or recognition through their university for participation in this program.
Responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with deployment pipeline configuration and maintenance
- Supporting cloud infrastructure setup and environment management
- Helping document deployment processes and procedures
- Collaborating with the engineering team on release readiness
- Troubleshooting deployment-related issues in staging and production environments
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a graduate program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- Able to receive academic credit for this internship through your university's cooperative education, practicum, or independent study program
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar providers)
- Experience or coursework involving CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), or infrastructure-as-code tools
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote, startup environment
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn
Nice to Have
- Interest in aerospace, satellite communications, or space technology
- Familiarity with Python or similar scripting languages
Details
- Duration: One academic semester (Spring 26)
- Hours: Approximately 4–8 hours per week
- Compensation: This is an unpaid academic internship. Participants must arrange academic credit through their institution prior to starting. You will gain meaningful experience working with a venture-stage aerospace company, mentorship from senior technical leaders, and a strong reference upon successful completion.
- Location: Fully remote
