Job Description
As a Manager HRBP at Southwest Airlines, you'll be responsible for leading and coordinating embedded Human Resource Business Partners that are field-based in Ground Operations. This role works to ensure the overall mission of aligning business objectives with Employees and Leaders in designated departments are successful. You'll serve as a consultant to Leaders on Human Resources related issues and support building future support model strategy for the business.

Due to the nature of this role, you would be required to work from our Dallas, TX Headquarters facility during business hours. Responsibilities
- Act as a consultant to Department's Sr. Leadership Team by analyzing People issues such as retention and morale and recommending solutions in partnerships with People Department Centers of Excellence
- Contribute to the business strategy by helping business functional areas to identify, prioritize, and build Employee centered capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes in alignment with business goals
- Serve as a strategic Business Advisor to the Executive/Senior Management of each business unit or specialty group regarding key organizational and management issues
- Serve as an advisor by appropriately challenging Leaders, while maintaining strong business partnership and relationships with assigned Departments, Executives, and Leaders applying a high degree of confidence
- Develop HR plans and strategies to support the achievement of the overall business operations objectives
- Manage, coach, and provide subject matter expertise to Team to ensure they are equipped with the right skills, tools, and talents necessary
- Provide mentorship to the Team to ensure continual professional growth
- Develop and maintain partnerships with Senior decision makers within assigned Department through the development of in-depth knowledge of the business, both strategically and operationally
- Provide guidance and input on department restructuring and succession planning in partnership with the Organizational Development COE
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
- Skilled in understanding and applying information to contribute to the organization's strategic plan
- Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Ability to convey information effectively in speaking and writing
- Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
Education & Experience
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
- Demonstrated experience in directly or indirectly leading team(s)
- Fully functioning, broad knowledge in: Multiple Human Resources related functions, Working with all levels of Employees
Physical Abilities & Other Qualifications
- Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Pay & Benefits
Competitive market salary from $138,800 - $154,200 per year depending on qualifications and experience. Additional bonus opportunities are available for eligible Leadership roles. Benefits include free flights for eligible dependents, 401(k) with Company contributions up to 9.3% of eligible earnings, potential for annual ProfitSharing contribution, and competitive health insurance from day one.
