Intern, Cloud Engineer
The Southern Poverty Law Center is seeking a Cloud Engineer Intern for Summer 2026. You will contribute to the development, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of cloud-based tools and infrastructure. This internship provides hands-on experience with cutting-edge cloud technologies and offers an opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals.

What You’ll Do
- Assist in provisioning and configuring virtual machines, storage, and network resources.
- Gain hands-on experience with Azure compute, storage, and networking.
- Help maintain cloud infrastructure through monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Provide assistance in managing Active Directory.
- Create and read reports to present findings.
- Learn cloud security and its relation to cyber security.
- Uphold JEDI principles by collaborating with a diverse team.
Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Computer Science, Engineering, or related field/program.
Compensation & Benefits
This position pays $17.95 per hour for a 40-hour work week. Supervisor approved overtime may be available.
Where & How You'll Work
This role is designed with flexible work arrangements. Interns might work remotely, attend occasional meetings at SPLC offices, or follow a telework schedule (minimum three days onsite per week in some cases). The position reports to the Manager, Cloud Operations.
Other Special Considerations
This internship requires a commitment of ten consecutive weeks starting June 1, 2026. Applicants must apply by 5:00pm CST on Friday, February 20th, 2026. Due to high application volumes, phone inquiries will not be responded to.
