The Opportunity: Online Adjunct Faculty, Human Services - Substance Use
Southern New Hampshire University is seeking passionate online adjunct faculty within our Human Services program for Global Campus. This remote role offers the chance to make an impact by engaging students in an asynchronous and inclusive learning environment. You will provide guidance and resources in pre-developed online courses, offering instruction, constructive feedback, and experiential learning to help students achieve their academic and career goals. This position reports to the faculty dean team and is open to candidates in all US States, with the exception of California.
Currently Seeking Instructors For The Following Courses:
- HSE351 - Substance Use: From Prevention to Treatment
- HSE352 - Substance Use: Counseling Theory and Practice
What You'll Do
- Prioritize Student Engagement: Respond to students within set timeframes and proactively reach out to those needing additional support. Recognize student needs holistically, connecting them with relevant resources. Foster participation, collaboration, and strong faculty-student relationships to enhance learning and build critical skills.
- Share Expertise and Resources: Maintain current knowledge in your field of expertise, sharing practical experience and recommending supplementary materials to deepen student understanding. Explain complex topics accessibly.
- Offer Feedback & Assessment: Evaluate student work comprehensively, providing individualized, constructive feedback within established timeframes to promote growth and mastery of course outcomes.
- Facilitate Discussions: Encourage dynamic student interaction through active participation in online discussions, promoting an inclusive, engaging, and respectful environment that values open dialogue and diverse perspectives.
What We're Looking For
- Master's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Counseling, or a closely related field.
- 2 years or more of professional experience in the field.
- Licensed alcohol drug counselor or a professional license/certification in a counseling-related field with demonstrated experience in addictions.
Compensation and Benefits
The standard compensation for courses is $2,200 per 8-week undergraduate course and $2,500 per 10-week graduate course. Actual pay is determined at the time of course assignment based on discipline.
