Work Arrangement & Location

The Opportunity
The Cybersecurity Architect, reporting to the Deputy Chief Information Security Officer, is responsible for establishing secure and efficient technology environments. This role includes designing and maintaining the Security Operations Center (SOC) infrastructure to monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents, while ensuring alignment with SNHU’s enterprise security architecture.
Responsibilities
- SOC Strategy: Analyze current SOC environment and recommend improvements.
- Architecture Design: Develop technical architecture for monitoring and incident response.
- Technology Evaluation: Evaluate and select security tools and platforms.
- Automation & Orchestration: Implement automation workflows to enhance security operations.
- Security Monitoring: Define logging and monitoring standards across systems.
- Scalability & Performance: Ensure SOC infrastructure is scalable and redundant.
- Documentation and Standards: Create diagrams, strategies, and procedures.
- Mentorship & Training: Guide SOC team on best practices in security architecture and operations.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to security regulations and standards.
- Additional Duties: Provide advice, manage projects, and support security testing strategies.
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in security operations and architecture.
- 7+ years in security operations environments or incident response teams.
- 2+ years managing SIEM or data pipeline tools (e.g., Splunk, Azure Sentinel).
- Master's degree in Cybersecurity or a related field.
- Experience with Azure cloud security and hybrid environments.
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell) and automation.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity regulations such as NIST, FERPA, PCI-DSS.
