Project Manager Role Overview
Southern Indian Health Council, Inc is seeking a qualified Project Manager to oversee the construction of a new 40,000-50,000 square foot building supporting expanded community health services. This position is a contractor role (1099) based in Alpine.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate all construction phases from pre-design through post-construction.
- Manage project budget, schedule, and quality control.
- Facilitate communication between leadership, Board of Directors, design teams, and regulatory agencies.
- Oversee permitting and compliance with local codes and regulations.
- Conduct regular site visits and progress reporting.
- Identify and mitigate potential project risks.
- Enforce on-site safety protocols and procedures.
- Respond to delays, emergencies, and disruptions efficiently.
- Lead project meetings to review progress and address issues.
- Ensure timely delivery and handover of the completed facility.
- Work flexible hours as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Applicants should have a minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial or institutional construction project management, particularly in healthcare construction. A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field is required. PMP certification is preferred along with proven experience in managing projects of 25,000 sqft or larger. Familiarity with California Title 24 Building Standards, Cal/OSHA regulations, and a valid California driver’s license are required.

Candidates must be honest, responsible, detail-oriented, and able to effectively interact with diverse teams. Strong communication, organizational, and team building skills are essential.
Physical, Personal, and Compliance Requirements
The role requires functioning in a normal office/clinic environment, occasional travel, and successful completion of pre-employment health screenings and drug tests. Compliance with SIHC policies and participation in all required training is mandatory.

Preference may be given to qualified Native American Indians as per applicable regulations. Verification documents must accompany the application to receive Indian preference.
