Job Summary

The M365 Collaboration Engineer System Administration Sr at Southern Company is responsible for administering Microsoft 365 Collaboration tools and PDF solutions including Microsoft Teams, Teams Voice, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Office 365 tenant administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team and stakeholders to design, implement, and manage cloud efforts focused on Microsoft 365 initiatives.
  • Configure, deploy, and manage Office 365 applications to meet business requirements, best practices, and security guidelines.
  • Serve as 3rd level escalation, providing technical guidance and support to end-users.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation including system configurations, designs, and procedures.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for stakeholders, users, and IT staff on best practices.
  • Develop and enforce governance policies, user guidelines, and security measures.
  • Conduct regular performance and security audits and implement necessary improvements.
  • Monitor performance, availability, and configuration standards to ensure service levels are met.

Job Requirements

Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Teams Voice, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Office 365 tenant administration, GPO policies, Office client patching, conditional access, PowerShell scripting, MS graph connector, external access, and documentation. Proven experience as an Office 365 Engineer with expertise in Office 365 administration including user and license management, security settings, and compliance features. Proficiency in troubleshooting Office 365 services & scripting for automation. Familiarity with Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, network protocols, DNS, authentication, server and storage technology, and cyber security awareness.

Non-Technical Skills: Excellent communication and technical writing skills, ability to work independently and remotely, strong problem solving, and capacity to simplify complex subjects for non-technical audiences. Ability to assess changes and quantify risk effectively.
