Administration Officer - Emergency Department

The Emergency Department Administration Officer at South Western Sydney Local Health District plays a key role in supporting the delivery of safe, timely emergency care by providing high quality administrative and customer service support in a fast-paced clinical environment. Working as part of a dedicated Emergency Department administration team, this role collaborates closely with clinicians and support staff to ensure smooth patient flow and positive experiences for patients and families.

Through accurate registration, admissions, effective communication, and the respectful handling of sensitive information, this position contributes directly to patient-centered care while developing a broad range of administrative and organisational skills across a 24-hour, seven-day service. You will be required to work a set rotating roster comprising of morning, afternoons, and night shifts. This is a compulsory requirement of the role. Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Has prior administrative experience with strong computer and data entry skills, with the ability to use hospital or administrative information systems effectively.
  • Is adaptable, reliable, and able to work a 24-hour, seven-day rotating roster within a busy Emergency Department.
  • Works well as part of a multidisciplinary team while also showing initiative and the ability to work independently.

  • This position operates on a 24-hour, seven-day rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays. Please confirm your ability to work across this roster.
