Where you'll be working
Population and Community Health (PaCH) is an integral part of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District. PaCH delivers comprehensive community health services, providing care to individuals, families, and carers, alongside population health services focused on the broader community or specific groups. Services are rendered across the District's hospitals, various community-based facilities, including child and family health centres, and specialist clinics. We actively collaborate with other service providers across the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District, such as hospitals and mental health services. The Role
The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is ‘exceptional care, healthier lives’, emphasizing a commitment to community well-being and compassionate care. The Senior Project Officer, Multicultural Health Communication will primarily be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating health-related projects and campaigns specifically for culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities across NSW. This role involves close collaboration with key internal and external partners. Additionally, the Senior Project Officer will provide accurate and timely advice to partners, informing the development of strategies, programs, and campaigns relevant to CALD communities throughout NSW. Key partners include the NSW Ministry of Health, various Multicultural Health Services, other government departments, non-government organizations, and community groups.

To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Tertiary qualifications in health, social sciences, health promotion, or a relevant field, coupled with, or equivalent to, relevant work experience in a related area.
- Demonstrated high level project management skills, including the ability to successfully navigate diverse, complex, and often competing priorities.
- A high-level understanding of health literacy principles, health inequities, and proven strategies for addressing these inequities within CALD communities.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, evidenced by experience in preparing formal reports and project resources.
- Exceptional consultation and facilitation skills, alongside robust stakeholder engagement and management capabilities.
- Practical experience with co-design and co-production of health-related resources, specifically including written and audio-visual materials tailored for CALD communities.
- Advanced social media skills, strong website management capabilities, and comprehensive computer competency, including proficiency in Microsoft Products and Adobe programs.
- A current driver’s licence and a willingness to travel as required by the demands of the position.
