Job Description

Reception and Administration Officer

The South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is dedicated to ‘exceptional care, healthier lives’, fostering community health and providing compassionate care. We are seeking a dedicated Reception and Administration Officer to provide high-level support within the Department of Nuclear Medicine and PET at Prince of Wales Hospital.

This permanent part-time role involves 30 hours per week and offers a remuneration of $35.84 - $36.96 per hour plus superannuation.

The Role

As a Reception and Administration Officer, you will be crucial in providing high-level reception and administrative support to patients, visitors, and staff within the Department of Nuclear Medicine and PET. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Processing patient referrals efficiently.
  • Managing appointment bookings accurately.
  • Ensuring all patient information is meticulously updated and recorded.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service through effective and clear communication.
  • Performing various administrative and secretarial duties to support Clinical staff, including the Head of Department and Staff Specialists.

Where You'll Be Working

The Prince of Wales Hospital (POWH) and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with 370 inpatient beds, handling over 70,000 Emergency Department patients and 50,000 inpatient admissions annually. POWH provides comprehensive outpatient and rural outreach services, with over 900,000 non-admitted patient care occasions each year, including innovative virtual models. Most inpatient units have transitioned to the state-of-the-art Acute Services Building (ASB), which includes a cutting-edge Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. The hospital is committed to a superior staff experience and enhanced patient and family outcomes through person-centred care.
