This is a Permanent Part Time position for an Administration Officer Level 3, working 24 hours per week at The Royal Hospital for Women in Randwick, Sydney.

The Role
The Genetic Intake Assistant provides essential general support to the genetic team within the Maternal Fetal Medicine Department. This diverse role involves supporting various aspects of patient flow through the department, directly enabling genetic counsellors to manage increasing demand for services and improving the overall capacity and productivity of the genetic counselling workforce.
While primarily administrative, the role benefits significantly from a candidate with some clinical knowledge, training, or experience, particularly regarding NSW genetic services. Prior experience with the NSW Genetic Information System (TrakGene) is considered a valuable asset.

Selection Criteria
- Ability to perform a wide range of administrative tasks efficiently in a demanding workload.
- Excellent communication skills, including accurate spelling, strong comprehension, and confidence in verbal interactions with people at all levels.
- A team player with a willingness and ability to contribute to the overall performance and improvement of the Service’s administrative support.
- Understanding of the services delivered by the Department of Maternal Fetal Medicine and Centre for Clinical Genetics (SCH).
- Experience in responding to diverse enquiries and determining appropriate responses within a complex work environment.
- Experience with a genetics information database, such as TrakGene.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing quality service and implementing quality improvement initiatives in workplace administrative practices and procedures.
