Administration Officer - Outpatient Clinics - The Sutherland Hospital

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated Administration Officer to join our Allied Health team in a permanent part-time position, working two days per week (Monday and Tuesday) from 8am to 4:30pm.

About the Role

This varied role's main purpose is to provide efficient reception and administrative support services for the Allied Health Department at The Sutherland Hospital. You will have a customer focus and an organized and motivated attitude to assist managers and staff with tasks in order to enable the department to achieve objectives in a timely, reliable, and effective manner.

The Administration Officer will provide a range of reception duties, including coordination of outpatient clinic bookings, and administrative, secretarial, and clerical support to enable Sutherland Hospital Allied Health services to achieve their objectives in a timely, reliable, and efficient manner.

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated ability to perform a wide range of administrative tasks under general instruction requiring minimal supervision.
  • Experience in responding to a range of enquiries and determining the appropriate response in a complex work environment.
  • High-level interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and the ability to confidently and courteously deal with a variety of people.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing quality service and quality improvement initiatives in workplace practices and procedures.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the operation of outpatient clinics, including knowledge of patient billing and related processes.
  • Ability to use computer hardware, software applications, and electronic patient administration systems (e.g., eMR Outpatient Clinic Scheduler, PowerChart and iPM) and Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook and Word.
