Job Overview

The Electrical Engineering Internship at SoundOff Signal offers a hands-on experience in PCB assembly, testing, and troubleshooting. The intern will build and test PCB prototypes, assist in product validation, and work closely with project engineers.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate SoundOff Signal’s core values in daily interactions.
  • Build and test PCB prototypes for Surface Mount and Through Hole technology.
  • Troubleshoot prototypes and validate PCB assembly against product specs.
  • Utilize PCB design software including CadSoft’s Eagle and Altium Designer.
  • Assist with product Bills of Materials creation and product validation testing.
  • Read and follow work instructions and electrical schematics.
  • Apply soldering, multi-meter, and oscilloscope skills in lab settings.
  • Handle light manufacturing duties in an office and electronics lab environment.

Requirements

  • Enrollment in a Bachelor’s program for Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with electronic assemblies and troubleshooting is a plus.
  • Proficiency with PCB design software and Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Good communication skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and work in variable physical positions.
  • Automotive electronic wiring background and mechanical aptitude beneficial.

Work Environment

This internship is set primarily in an office and electronics lab with some light manufacturing. Occasional domestic and international travel may be required. Normal business hours apply with occasional flex hours.
