Continuous Improvement Intern - Summer 2026 at Sound Transit
This paid internship is for current college students pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees. The hourly pay ranges from $22 to $39 depending on qualifications. Internship Dates
Semester students: May 18th to July 24thQuarter students: June 15th to August 21st
Department Overview & CI Program
Within Sound Transit’s Agency Oversight department, the Agency Controls division works cross-functionally to provide clear standards and actionable guidance. The Continuous Improvement (CI) Program partners with various teams to co-design processes that deliver measurable results for internal customers via awareness-building, education, and communication of success stories.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Awareness-building: Create materials that promote CI Program services across the agency.
- Education: Develop engaging content to teach CI Methodologies to internal teams.
- Success Stories: Craft materials that communicate past achievements to a diverse audience.
Example Deliverables
Deliverables may include written materials (intranet pages, newsletters, case studies), visual content (posters, infographics, presentation slides), multimedia (short-form videos, audio clips), and interactive materials (online courses, surveys). Additional projects could involve content calendar creation, development of templates and standardized guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills
Applicants must be current college students in good academic standing enrolled in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Instructional Design or a relevant field. Key skills include clear written and verbal communication, ability to simplify complex ideas, and strong organizational skills. Preferred skills include web and graphic design, video production and editing, and instructional design.
Work Environment
This role is performed in a standard office environment with occasional field visits. Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
