Are you a cloud-focused software engineer with expertise in AWS, distributed systems, and modern application development? This role offers the opportunity to architect and support critical infrastructure powering Miovision's Emergency Vehicle Preemption (EVP) and Transit Signal Priority (TSP) services, helping improve transportation efficiency and public safety on a global scale.
As a Software Developer II, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining cloud-native solutions across multiple engineering teams and platforms. You will play a key role in designing scalable services, improving system reliability, and contributing to the ongoing evolution of Miovision's intelligent transportation solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture & Development
• Design, develop, and maintain AWS cloud-native applications and services.
• Build scalable, highly available, and resilient solutions supporting EVP and TSP platforms.
• Develop and enhance distributed systems that support large-scale transportation technology operations.
• Ensure cloud architectures follow best practices for performance, security, and reliability.
Software Engineering
• Develop high-quality, maintainable, and scalable software solutions.
• Participate in application design, development, testing, deployment, and support activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver robust software capabilities.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and technology decisions.
Platform Reliability & Performance
• Monitor and optimize application performance and system availability.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and implement long-term solutions.
• Improve system resilience, scalability, and fault tolerance.
• Support operational excellence initiatives across cloud environments.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
• Partner with product, engineering, and platform teams to deliver business objectives.
• Participate in code reviews and technical design reviews.
• Share knowledge and promote engineering best practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Master's Degree in:
- Computer Science
- Computer Engineering
- Related Technical Field
• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
Bachelor's Degree in:
- Computer Science
- Computer Engineering
- Related Technical Field
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
Additional Requirements
• Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
