Your Role as Software Architect Scientific Computing

• As a Software Architect Scientific Computing, you take responsibility for the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex IT systems with a focus on scalable solutions for High-Performance Computing and hybrid cloud models.
• The definition and further development of architecture components, as well as technical prototyping, are part of your daily routine to ensure feasibility and quality.
• You support decision-makers with sound analyses and ensure clear communication between all stakeholders to achieve common goals.
• Consulting on best practices and new technologies, as well as identifying improvements for robustness and maintainability, are an important part of your role.
• The entire technical design process is within your area of responsibility – from documentation to risk management.
• Quality, security, and compliance are central, while you promote DevOps methods through automation and efficient workflows.
• Consulting means flexibility: your project assignment depends on our clients and your project situation – you work nationwide in our offices, at the client's site, and from home.

Qualifications We're Looking For

• You bring at least five years of experience in the conception and implementation of complex IT architectures.
• Proven experience with Scientific Computing, especially in Python environments, Jupyter Notebooks, and data tagging/classification.
• Profound knowledge of Cluster Linux environments (RHEL) as well as a solid basic understanding of computer architectures, networks, and operating systems characterizes you.
• You have demonstrable expertise in the integration of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Podman, Apptainer/Singularity) and orchestration tools like Kubernetes, as well as experience with automation frameworks like Ansible.
• Knowledge in the integration of LDAP/SSSD, Active Directory, and LSF is also part of your repertoire.
• You possess excellent analytical skills, problem-solving competence, and confident stakeholder management.
• With your communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, as well as your expertise in creating architectural documentation and diagrams according to standards such as ARCHIMATE or UML, you are ideally positioned.
• Very good German language skills (C1 level or higher) and English language skills complete your profile.
