Role Summary: Business Intelligence & Strategy Manager
Sophos is seeking a detail-oriented, analytically strong Business Intelligence & Strategy Manager to join its Business Intelligence & Strategy team. This role is perfect for a candidate with robust data manipulation and modeling skills, eager to transform complex data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making and operational efficiency. You will play a crucial role in delivering accurate and insightful Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) forecasting, developing intuitive dashboards, and streamlining reporting processes to support critical business decisions across the organization.
This position emphasizes hands-on analytics, model building, and performance reporting, demanding high technical proficiency and sharp business acumen. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Finance, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product Management.
What You Will Do
- Build, maintain, and enhance ARR analysis models and dashboards to support monthly and quarterly executive reporting with data-backed insights and visualizations.
- Create and maintain dashboards for monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to support and improve operational performance.
- Develop and automate repeatable reporting processes using advanced Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
- Ensure consistency of ARR definitions and metrics across various systems and reporting frameworks.
- Partner with Financial Business Systems and Enterprise Applications teams to streamline and validate data sources.
- Collaborate with the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team to support ARR forecasting and strategic planning initiatives.
- Provide support for ad hoc analysis and scenario modeling to inform strategic decision-making.
What You Will Bring
- Demonstrated experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Business Intelligence, Revenue Operations, or a similar role within a SaaS or high-growth environment.
- Strong familiarity with key SaaS metrics such as ARR, Gross and Net Retention Rates, Renewal Rate, churn, and Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), Lifetime Value (LTV).
- Proficiency with leading Business Intelligence (BI) and visualization tools, including Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
- Expertise in writing and optimizing SQL queries for efficient data extraction, manipulation, and validation.
- Experience with data warehouse platforms like Snowflake, Redshift, or Fabric, and ETL/data preparation tools such as Matillion, Alteryx, or Power Query is preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills for comprehensive financial modeling and data analysis.
- Proven capability to translate complex datasets into clear, actionable business insights.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical thinking abilities.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field. An advanced degree or relevant certification is a plus.
