In everything we do, we’re committed to artistic integrity, transparency, and entrepreneurship. Sony Music Entertainment is a member of the Sony family of global companies.

As a Coordinator, Finance, you will report directly to one or more Managers of Finance within the centralized finance organization, servicing the Sony Music US Front Line Label Group (Columbia Records, RCA Records, Epic Records, Arista Records, Sony Music Nashville, Provident Entertainment, and Ultra Records). You will play a crucial role in overhead and travel & entertainment (T&E) cost management and administration, supporting month-end financial close and forecast processes, and assisting in the accounting, reporting, and analysis of departmental overhead costs. Additionally, you will be involved in the review and approval of employee travel and T&E expenditures. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, an understanding of financial principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments across multiple business units to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies.

What You'll Do

  • Overhead Cost Management: Assist in budgeting, tracking, and reporting departmental overhead expenses, ensuring reasonableness, cost controls, and policy compliance.
  • Accounting, Reporting & Month-End Close: Support month-end close by generating reports, analyzing actual expenses vs. budget/forecast, investigating variances, reconciling Company Meeting Card accounts, and preparing journal entries.
  • Forecast Process: Assist in the monthly update of balance-of-year forecasted overhead expenditures for assigned business units.
  • Travel/T&E Expense Review: Review and/or approve employee travel requests and T&E expense reports, ensuring policy compliance and issuing spend reports.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance reporting accuracy.
  • Collaboration: Work with central finance, label personnel, and corporate departments (Accounts Payable, Facilities, IS&T, Procurement, Telecommunication, Travel) for operational needs.
  • New Employee On-boarding: Assist with travel profiles, corporate credit cards, equipment assignment, system access, and training for new hires.
  • Dual Reporting Structure: Ensure effective communication and coordination between reporting managers for workflow and priorities.
  • Audit & Compliance: Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and analysis related to overhead costs and T&E expenses.

Who You Are

  • You have (or are pursuing) an Accounting or Finance degree, with relevant internship and 1-2 years of assistant-level full-time work experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel); eager to learn proprietary software. Data visualization experience (Tableau/Power BI) is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of and experience with general ledger accounting software (SAP) and related expense reporting tools.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, interacting professionally with all levels.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, able to handle multiple tasks, and adapt quickly to shifting priorities to meet deadlines.
  • An enthusiastic, achievement-oriented self-starter who takes initiative, with a can-do attitude and positive work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization, supporting multiple stakeholders.
  • You value collaboration, innovation, problem-solving, and teamwork.

What We Give You

  • An inclusive, collaborative, and global community to channel your passion.
  • A modern office environment fostering productivity, creativity, and teamwork.
  • Attractive and comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, vision, life & disability, 401K + employer matching.
