Purpose
The Service Advisor is responsible for scheduling service work in the service department and for selling additional needed service to customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Schedule service appointments and obtain customer/vehicle data.
- Greet customers in a timely, friendly manner.
- Provide complete and accurate written cost estimates for labor and parts.
- Establish promised service times and track repair progress.
- Communicate changes in estimates or timeline, obtaining proper authorizations.
- Test-drive vehicles or refer to a test technician as needed.
- Maintain Customer Satisfaction Index comparable to manufacturer averages.
- Advise customers on vehicle care and maintenance per manufacturer specifications.
- Meet dealership standards for hours per customer repair order written.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations and safety policies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of experience in a dealership position.
- General knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations.
- ASE certification and sales experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and professional appearance.
- Must pass pre-employment tests including background checks and drug tests.
