Project Manager at Sompo

Sompo is offering a unique opportunity for a Project Manager to join the UK Change and Transformation team within Insurance Operations. This role is based in the London office and plays a vital part in delivering improvements across Underwriting, Claims, and other support functions.

What You’ll Be Doing

The incumbent will lead and manage multiple key projects, working with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders to:

  • Translate programme roadmaps into detailed project plans.
  • Support business case development and benefits realisation.
  • Apply structured change management for smooth adoption.
  • Engage stakeholders through regular updates and communications.
  • Manage full project lifecycle with rigorous governance.
  • Coordinate resources, budgets, and timelines effectively.
  • Drive innovation and continuous process improvements.
  • Mitigate risks and ensure compliance with governance standards.
  • Lead and build high-performing project teams.
  • Collaborate on training and development initiatives.

What You’ll Bring

A minimum of 5+ years of continuous Project Management experience in the London market, preferably within insurance. Experience in change projects, stakeholder engagement up to C-Suite level, and familiarity with underwriting and claims systems (Guidewire, SAP, etc.) is essential. Proficiency with project management tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, MS Projects) and a formal change management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile) are required.
