Position Summary

AgriSompo provides renowned, cutting-edge analytics to address risk exposures across its product lines, making a long-lasting impact on this nation’s farmers and ranchers. In this role as Adjuster at Sompo, you are primarily responsible for adjusting both Multi-Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI), Private Products, and Named Peril claims within a designated territory. Servicing customers including policyholders and agents is the top priority.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

This role includes, but is not limited to:

  • Building and maintaining professional relationships with ACS, policyholders, agents, and fellow adjusters.
  • Recording and transmitting loss information following established procedures.
  • Completing field inspections with use of maps, aerial imagery and measurement tools.
  • Utilizing company software for communications and daily monitoring.
  • Following FCIS, State, and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Conducting fact-finding investigations to determine indemnities.
  • Completing initial and ongoing training and certifications as required.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in agriculture preferred.

Experience: Experience handling crop insurance claims is preferred.

License/Certification: Valid driver’s license, CAPP certification, and applicable State license required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Basic math skills, effective communication, documentation skills, analytical thinking, customer service orientation, independence and teamwork, time management, and working knowledge of crop insurance regulations.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

This role requires physical activity including lifting up to 50 lbs, walking, climbing, working in diverse weather conditions and extended hours. Up to 50% travel, mainly within 2 hours from the home office, is required.
