Job Description
Residential Architectural Drafter
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Residential Architectural Drafter to join our team. This role is ideal for a professional passionate about residential design and skilled in producing precise construction documents. You will work closely with architects, designers, and consultants to translate design concepts into accurate, buildable drawings that meet project standards and codes.
Key Responsibilities
Plan Development: Develop complete sets of residential working drawings from initial sketches to detailed design data.
Revisions & Version Control: Revise and update drawings by incorporating redlines and maintaining version control.
Design Collaboration: Coordinate with Interior Designers and Design Assistants for electrical layouts, plumbing rough-ins, cabinetry, flooring, and finish selections.
Technical Detailing: Produce detailed sections and construction details based on building methods and materials.
Code Compliance: Ensure all drawings meet company standards, best practices, and building codes.
Engineering Integration: Interpret and integrate civil, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical drawings into plans.
Permit Submittals: Compile complete permit submittal packages for building department review.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture is required along with a minimum of 2 years of project experience under a Registered Architect, with experience in American residential projects.
Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Autodesk Revit (minimum 2 years, high proficiency)
- AutoCAD Architecture
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project
- Ability to read and integrate MEP, Structural, and Civil drawings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
