IT Support Specialist Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for an IT Support Specialist at a growing US based company called Somewhere. The IT Support Specialist will be the first point of contact for clients and team members, helping them resolve technical issues and ensuring smooth operations of IT systems.
Responsibilities
- Technical Support: Provide first-level support via email, phone, and remote desktop tools.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
- System Maintenance: Assist in the setup, configuration, and upkeep of systems.
- User Support: Guide users through problem-solving and conduct software training when needed.
- Escalation: Identify and escalate complex issues appropriately.
- Documentation: Maintain records of issues, resolutions, and system configurations.
- Software Installation: Support deployment of new software and updates.
- Network Management: Assist with basic networking troubleshooting, including connectivity issues.
- Incident Reporting: Track and analyze recurring issues to improve system efficiency.
Requirements
Experience: 2+ years in an IT Support role, preferably in a fast-paced or client-facing environment. Remote work experience and international client support is a plus.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, and/or Linux. Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure), IT support tools (remote desktop, ticketing systems), and basic networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs). Hardware troubleshooting proficiency is required.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a plus. Ability to explain complex technical issues simply.
Customer Service: Proven experience in delivering outstanding support in a dynamic setting.
Compensation & Contract Details
Compensation ranges from $1,000 to $2,000 per month, paid in USD depending on experience. This is an independent contractor agreement with payment twice monthly, with a desire for a long term commitment.
