About the Role
The Administration Officer & Bookkeeper supports day-to-day operations with a blend of administrative and financial tasks. This remote role calls for effective management of customer interactions, scheduling, and maintaining accurate financial records using Xero, alongside ensuring compliance with Australian accounting and tax practices (including GST/BAS).
Key Responsibilities
Administration: Manage inbound/outbound calls and emails, quote and action enquiries, schedule jobs and appointments, coordinate calendars for management and contractors, and provide general administrative support.
Bookkeeping & Finance: Perform daily financial auditing, reconciliations, transaction coding; manage accounts payable/receivable; process invoices and payments; handle contractor payments; assist with BAS preparation; maintain records in Xero; manage payroll; monitor overdue invoices and flag unusual transactions; and maintain digital records using tools like Hubdoc or Dext.
Hard Skills / Essential Experience
Proven experience as a Virtual Assistant, Administration Officer, or Bookkeeper; hands-on Xero experience with Australian accounting; familiarity with GST and BAS requirements; strong English communication; excellent attention to detail; and a reliable internet/home office setup.
