About the Role

The Administration Officer & Bookkeeper is a remote, full-time position supporting Australian business hours. This role is crucial in managing customer interactions, scheduling, and financial record keeping to ensure operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Administration:

  • Manage inbound/outbound calls and email inboxes
  • Accurately quote and action incoming enquiries
  • Schedule jobs, installations, and service appointments
  • Coordinate calendars for management and contractors
  • Provide general administrative support

Bookkeeping & Finance:

  • Perform daily financial auditing and reconciliations
  • Maintain accounts payable and receivable records
  • Process invoices, bills, and supplier payments
  • Assist with BAS preparation and liaise with Australian accountants
  • Manage payroll and ensure GST coding accuracy
  • Keep accurate records in Xero and similar tools

Hard Skills / Essential Experience

Proven experience in administration or bookkeeping, specifically using Xero with Australian accounting practices, GST, and BAS. Excellent English communication and strong attention to detail are required.

Desirable Attributes

Experience with Australian businesses, exposure to trades or service-based industries, and a proactive, customer-focused mindset.
