Position Overview

Role: Senior Python Software Engineer – SQL & Generative AI

Location: Austin, Texas (Onsite)

Employment: Permanent/FTE

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance applications using Python.

• Build secure and reliable RESTful APIs and microservices using FastAPI, Flask, or Django.

• Design and optimize complex SQL queries, database schemas, and stored procedures for high performance applications.

• Develop AI-powered applications leveraging Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs).

• Design and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines and intelligent AI workflows.

• Integrate OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or similar LLM platforms into enterprise applications.

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative software solutions.

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code while following engineering best practices.

• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions.

• Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing applications for performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Stay current with emerging technologies in AI, Python, cloud computing, and modern software engineering.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering.

• Strong expertise in Python application development.

• Advanced SQL knowledge, including query optimization, indexing, stored procedures, and relational database design.

• Hands-on experience developing REST APIs using FastAPI, Flask, or Django.

• Experience designing and building scalable backend systems and microservices.

• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software architecture, design patterns, and distributed systems. • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development methodologies.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Generative AI Experience (Required)

• Proven experience building production-grade applications using Generative AI technologies.

• Hands-on experience integrating OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or comparable LLM platforms.

• Experience designing and implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.

• Working knowledge of AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Semantic Kernel.

• Understanding of prompt engineering, embeddings, vector databases, and AI application lifecycle management.

• Familiarity with MLOps and AI deployment pipelines.

• Experience building enterprise-scale AI solutions.
