Join Our Team as a Staff UX Researcher

As a Staff UX Researcher at SoFi, you will play a pivotal role in shaping product strategy and driving user-centered decision-making across the business. You will contribute to and often lead significant cross-functional workstreams, utilizing data-driven and principle-based solutions to generate impactful insights from complex user journeys. This role involves guiding project direction, influencing product priorities, and delivering research projects with significant business impact by setting objectives, strategy, milestones, and execution.

What You'll Do

  • Lead broad research projects with complex user journeys, applying advanced qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
  • Influence product priorities and strategy through compelling research insights, demonstrating adaptability to new information.
  • Create high-impact artifacts like reports, presentations, and workshops that drive alignment and innovation.
  • Drive consistency and quality across interconnected research projects, managing timelines and milestones with minimal guidance.
  • Develop into a cross-functional leader, building strong stakeholder relationships and navigating trade-offs.
  • Actively contribute to the research team through knowledge sharing, thoughtful collaboration, and positive engagement.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, or a related field (Graduate Degree preferred).
  • Eight (8)+ years of experience conducting user research in a product development setting.
  • Demonstrated track record of influencing product strategy and leading complex projects.
  • Advanced expertise in a variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information and articulate strategic insights persuasively.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously, lead projects, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of the trade-off between rigor and speed in research project planning and execution.
  • Strong project and program management skills, managing multiple complex and strategic projects simultaneously.
  • A strong drive for continuous learning and self-improvement in advanced research skills and product knowledge.
