The Role: Software Engineer, Web
SoFi is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Software Engineer, Web with a natural inclination for solving complex problems. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in the design and implementation of systems that power our home screen and other critical member experiences. You will operate across functional and organizational boundaries, contributing to shipping new features, improving system architecture, resolving bugs, and continuously honing your technical abilities. The ideal candidate demonstrates forward-thinking vision, hands-on execution, a strong sense of ownership, and a collaborative, mentoring spirit.
What You'll Do
- Produce well-designed, scalable, and reusable code on schedule.
- Deliver modern, highly-responsive web components.
- Help define technical architecture for the product.
- Track project performance against defined milestones/goals.
- Mentor other engineers and support the technical culture.
- Create and improve technical documentation.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor’s degree (ideally in a technical field) or equivalent relevant work experience.
- 3+ years of web programming experience, with strong preference for React.
- Familiarity with Agile-based project development in a microservices environment.
- Experience designing and consuming APIs for web applications.
Nice to Have
- Experience integrating Large Language Models (LLM) into products.
- Experience scaling highly available, mission-critical systems.
- Full-stack experience across backend and frontend.
- History of building digital products in the financial space.
