The Role
SoFi at Work is seeking a Senior Technical Solutions Engineer to be the primary technical bridge for our employer partners across pre- and post‑sales, designing and delivering integrations that power our financial wellness benefits and platform experiences. You’ll partner with Sales, Product, Engineering, Partner Success, and Security to scope solutions, architect data flows, and lead implementations that bring to life programs like Student Loan Contributions, Student Loan Verification (401(k) match), Tuition Reimbursement, Emergency Savings, and the SoFi at Work Financial Wellness Dashboard. Your work will accelerate employer time‑to‑value, strengthen member engagement, and ensure reliability, privacy, and compliance of the integrations that make these benefits work.
What You'll Do
- Lead technical discovery and pre‑sales: translate employer benefit objectives and constraints into clear solution architectures, integration plans, and implementation timelines for SoFi at Work programs.
- Architect end‑to‑end integrations: eligibility file ingestion, SSO/OIDC/SAML, HRIS/payroll connections, webhooks and REST APIs, and recordkeeper reporting required for contribution programs.
- Scope and run pilots/PoCs for priority benefits and awareness programs to validate value, data flows, and operational readiness.
- Serve as the technical SME through implementation: configure plans, test data feeds, triage and resolve integration issues, and guide partners on best practices to ensure successful launches.
- Own technical responses for RFIs/RFPs and security questionnaires; clearly represent our architecture, controls, and operational processes to partner IT, Security, and Benefits stakeholders.
- Create enablement assets (sample requests, Postman collections, reference implementations) and improve internal/external documentation to streamline partner onboarding.
- Act as voice of the customer: aggregate technical feedback, edge cases, and feature requests to inform Product and Engineering roadmaps.
- Drive reliability and quality: define test plans, data validation checks, and monitoring for critical workflows (e.g., verifications, contributions, reimbursements).
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to continuously reduce time‑to‑launch and improve partner and member outcomes across the SoFi at Work Dashboard and contribution programs.
What You'll Need
- 7+ years in solutions engineering, implementation engineering, or technical account management, including direct ownership of complex enterprise integrations.
- Strong proficiency with REST APIs, JSON, and webhooks; comfort reading/writing scripts and queries (e.g., Python/JavaScript/SQL) for troubleshooting and automation.
- Hands‑on experience integrating employer systems (HRIS/payroll, SSO) and benefits/recordkeeper data flows for programs like student loan contributions, tuition reimbursement, retirement match, or emergency savings.
- Ability to decompose ambiguous business requirements into secure, scalable technical designs with clear operational runbooks.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non‑technical audiences; consultative approach that builds trust with partner engineering, IT/security, and benefits teams.
- Building on the communications skills above - you have a knack for delivering status and KPI information outward in a consistent, easily digestible, and quickly consumed formats.
- Proven program management across multiple concurrent projects; crisp planning, risk management, and stakeholder updates.
- Familiarity with security, privacy, and compliance considerations in financial services (e.g., data minimization, access controls, auditability).
- Experience adopting AI tooling (e.g., copilots for triage, doc generation, and data QA) to speed efficiency and drive better outcomes.
Nice to Have
- Domain depth in financial wellness or adjacent fintech, including SoFi at Work program areas: Student Loan Contributions, Student Loan Verification (401(k) match), Tuition Reimbursement, Emergency Savings, and our Financial Wellness Dashboard.
- Practical familiarity with HCM/payroll and benefits ecosystems)and benefits platforms/recordkeepers from prior integrations.
- Experience improving documentation, creating code samples, and enabling partner developers during onboarding.
- Comfort with observability and analytics (e.g., logging, SQL/BI) to validate data quality and monitor production flows.
