The Role

As an Intern Cybersecurity SOC Analyst, you will join SoFi’s Cyber Security Operations Center (SOC) to gain hands-on experience in defending against real-world cyber threats. You will support detection and response activities in a 24x7 SOC environment and learn from experienced security analysts.

• Assist with security alert triage and monitoring.
• Support investigations under senior analysts' guidance.
• Collect, analyze, and document security artifacts.
• Learn to use SIEM, EDR, email security, and threat intelligence tools.
• Participate in incident response processes and post-incident reviews.

What You’ll Need

You must be enrolled in an accredited US-based university (Bachelor’s or Master’s) with expected graduation by December 2026 or Spring 2027. This role requires minimal prior professional experience, foundational cybersecurity knowledge, and a willingness to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area for a hybrid work schedule (2-3 days on-site).

• Foundational cybersecurity concepts and threat awareness.
• Basic networking fundamentals and operating system familiarity.
• Interest in security monitoring, incident response, and SOC operations.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Teamwork and ownership of assigned tasks.

Nice To Have

Hands-on experience via labs, projects, or related internships. Familiarity with SIEM platforms like Splunk or Elastic, endpoint security basics, and exposure to threat intelligence frameworks. Scripting knowledge (Python, Bash, PowerShell) is a plus.
