Overview

Sofar Ocean, the leading ocean intelligence platform, is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, U.S. Government Programs to build and scale both classified and unclassified cloud software applications and data management pipelines for U.S. Government applications.

The Role

You will define and execute the roadmap for transitioning commercial technologies into U.S. Government environments. This includes owning the architectural vision, securing system design, and collaborating with the engineering team to build secure, scalable solutions.

About You

The ideal candidate is a U.S. Citizen with an active SECRET Clearance (eligibility for TS/SCI is required) and 8+ years in cloud engineering, with at least 3 years in classified cloud environments. Experience with commercial software transition to high-side environments or Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) is essential. Familiarity with U.S. Government security and compliance standards such as FedRAMP, IL5, IL6, ATO, and RMF is expected. Excellent communication and collaborative skills are a must.

Compensation

Estimated Salary Range: $170,000 - $210,000 annually. Actual compensation is based on various factors such as skill set, experience, and equity packages.
