About the Role: Senior Data Science, ML, AI & GenAI Architect

Within the Group Chief Operating Office (GCOO), Group Architecture (ARC) defines the Group's Architecture strategy and framework, including urbanization principles, norms, and standards for global coherence. ARC is also responsible for developing and validating the Group's transformation plan. ARC unites all Societe Generale architects (around 250 employees) across business, functional, application, data, and technical domains for Global Banking & Investors Solutions, Retail & Private Banking & Insurance, Mobility & International Retail Banking Services, central corporate functions, and SI foundations. It also oversees architects in subsidiaries (around 250 employees).

The Architecture Stream's role is to implement and adapt architectural principles within each Group platform in close collaboration with business and IT managers, ensure Group norms, standards, and patterns are applied, participate in transformation projects and their roadmaps, and validate implemented architectural choices. This role also involves a constant focus on simplification, automation, industrialization of processes, and global SI coherence. The Foundation entity of the IT Department covers group service offerings, including AI & Data offerings, and specifically AI tools for this role.

Societe Generale's SI group is undergoing a major transformation, with numerous strategic projects deploying Data & AI foundations to serve all Group Business Units. Based on a hybrid architecture (on-premise + Azure & AWS, Databricks, Snowflake), AI is being massively integrated into SI and the Group's data platform. SIs will be transformed in the coming years based on these new approaches.

This role will have a transversal impact across the Societe Generale group, covering a wide spectrum of interventions, from contributing to the construction of the group's AI strategies to operational tasks aimed at deploying new AI capabilities and supporting the transformation of SIs towards these new approaches.

This includes active market watch, POCs, building reusable AI capabilities, and integrating selected solutions for large-scale use within the group. The Foundation platform covers group service offerings, including Data offerings in general (Datalake, Datascience) and, for this specific role, AI/ML tools.

This position will collaborate closely with the SocgenAI entity, dedicated to large-scale AI deployment, and with the Global Technologies and Engineering entity, responsible for implementing technical capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide in-depth knowledge of various AI platforms deployed within the group.
• Contribute to the development of the group's AI/ML strategy (AI Strategy, TSP).
• Ensure compliance with Group Data/AI norms and standards, driving change and ensuring stakeholder understanding.
• Monitor and contribute to AI/ML technology watch in coordination with group stakeholders.
• Support the creation and evolution of group AI/ML service offerings, ensuring alignment with the Group Data strategy.
• Support the deployment and use of group AI/ML service offerings by all group entities in France and internationally.
• Coordinate AI/ML architecture work with all stakeholders (SocGen AI, Architects, Data Management Office, Datalab, Business, IT).
• Review the group's AI architecture with SocGen AI to eliminate solution redundancies and ensure a limited number of interconnected, widely adopted AI platforms across various business lines.
• Work within the transversal AI Foundations team to establish the necessary software foundations (provisioning AI components in the cloud, within AI and ML platforms, and no-code/low-code solutions) for developing Societe Generale's AI software offering (SocGen AI) and supporting technical teams (especially datalabs).
• Collaborate with SocGen AI to define a target agentic architecture for the group, integrating agent needs and impacts, and ensuring that software solutions implemented in core processes allow for agent integration and inter-agent communication.
• Produce architectural documents (study reports, architectural dossiers, strategic notes) within business-compatible deadlines and assist teams in implementing defined architectures.

Candidate Profile

You hold an engineering degree or an equivalent university qualification and have at least 10 years of experience in complex information systems, preferably within a Tier 1 banking institution. Curious, rigorous, and organized, you demonstrate strong analytical and synthesis skills, bringing pragmatic solutions to complex problems. You can effectively lead a team, both in-person and remotely.

• Behavioral Skills: Ability to interact at all levels, analytical and synthesis skills, project management experience and information systems culture, negotiation, and influence.
• Technical or Business Skills: Strategic perspective and transversal vision, expertise in AI/ML solutions, and implementation of service offerings for multiple client entities.
• AI/ML Domain Skills: Proficiency in AI solutions, Databricks, Snowflake, Power Platform, and Azure services. Competence in building AI/ML models to solve business problems.
• Language: Good level of English is essential.
