About the Role: Junior Trading Front End Support Analyst
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Trading Application Support Analyst to join our team, providing front-line support for both in-house and vendor-based trading applications. In this role, you will collaborate closely with traders and infrastructure teams to ensure the high availability and optimal performance of our critical trading systems. Your responsibilities will include investigating and resolving technical issues promptly, as well as assisting with the implementation of new releases and enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide real-time support to trading desks and efficiently resolve application-related issues.
- Monitor application and system performance, latency, and connectivity, with particular attention during market hours.
- Investigate and troubleshoot complex issues such as trade breaks, order rejections, and latency problems.
- Support the deployment of new releases, patches, and configuration changes across our systems.
- Manage incident tracking, conduct thorough root cause analysis, and meticulously document all issues and resolutions.
- Liaise with exchanges, brokers, and vendors to address connectivity and operational concerns.
- Develop and maintain operational runbooks, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and comprehensive support documentation.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide weekend release support when required.
- Collaborate effectively with QA and Development teams for User Acceptance Testing (UAT), regression testing, and production testing.
- Provide infrastructure-level support to other departments as needed.
Required Profile
We are looking for candidates with 2-5 years of experience in trading application or production support, ideally serving institutional clients. A strong understanding of equity markets and the entire order lifecycle is essential. Familiarity with FIX protocol (including log analysis and message structure), market data feeds (such as Bloomberg), and experience with OMS/EMS platforms are highly valued.
Exposure to scripting languages like Python or Perl is considered a significant advantage. Successful candidates will possess strong analytical and communication skills, coupled with the ability to perform effectively under pressure within a fast-paced trading environment. Certification in financial markets or capital markets (NISM) is also required.
Experience supporting algorithmic or high-frequency trading systems, knowledge of exchange APIs (e.g., NSE, BSE), and an understanding of SOR logic are beneficial. Proficiency in Windows, Linux, and Unix environments, along with basic networking knowledge, is necessary. Finally, familiarity with incident and change management tools will be crucial for managing support operations effectively.
