Overview of the AI & Compliance Enablement Intern Role
As part of its compliance transformation, Societe Generale is enhancing its capabilities in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Privacy, and Data Protection. The Compliance function is crucial in ensuring that AI is used responsibly, securely, and in line with regulatory expectations. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to AI literacy, use case identification, internal tools support, and innovation activities such as AI days and prompt-thons, all within a practical and hands-on environment.
You will support the Compliance team in building AI knowledge and practical tools for compliance officers, fostering the responsible and ethical use of AI across the organization. This role is supportive and exploratory, involving research, structuring, documenting, testing, and facilitation under the supervision of senior compliance professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- AI Knowledge & Training Support: Research AI concepts relevant to compliance, privacy, and data protection. Help create internal learning materials including presentations, one-pagers, and FAQs. Contribute to an AI glossary and resources like “AI basics for compliance officers.” Support the preparation of internal awareness or training sessions.
- AI Use Case Identification: Identify and document potential AI use cases for compliance activities. Collect feedback from compliance officers on their needs and pain points. Structure use cases using predefined templates (purpose, benefits, risks). Develop and maintain a centralized inventory of AI use cases.
- Prompting & Internal Tool Support: Develop example prompts for compliance-related activities such as summarization, drafting, and comparison. Test prompts using approved internal tools. Document good practices, limitations, and risks (e.g., hallucinations, data sensitivity). Support user documentation for internal AI tools.
- Innovation & Engagement Activities: Support the organization of AI innovation days and prompt-thons. Help design challenges, materials, and evaluation criteria. Document outcomes, lessons learned, and best practices. Contribute to post-event reports and recommendations.
What This Role Is Not
To ensure proper governance, the AI & Compliance Enablement Intern will not provide legal or regulatory interpretations, validate compliance with laws or regulations, approve AI tools, vendors, or use cases, nor perform or own risk assessments or DPIAs. All work is carried out strictly under supervision.
Profile & Qualifications Required
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program (law, compliance, public policy, data, technology, business, or a related field).
- Strong interest in AI, digital innovation, privacy, or ethics.
- Strong analytical and structuring skills.
- Very good written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex topics simply.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint to produce clear, well-structured documents and presentations.
- Curiosity, autonomy, and a willingness to learn.
- Bilingualism.

- Basic understanding of AI or data protection concepts.
- Experience with presentations, documentation, or research.
- Interest in innovation, design thinking, or facilitation.
