About the Role
As a Specialist Systems Engineer - Windows L2 at Societe Generale Global Solution Centre, you will play a crucial role in managing and supporting the Windows infrastructure. This position requires hands-on experience with various Windows Server versions, clustering technologies, and systems monitoring tools to ensure robust and secure operations.
You will be responsible for maintaining the stability and performance of critical systems, contributing to ongoing transformation initiatives, and adhering to strict technical and security standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support Windows Server environments (2012, 2016, 2019, 2022).
- Manage and troubleshoot Veritas Volume Manager, Veritas Cluster, and VMware platforms.
- Perform volumetry on SAN/NAS and manage PowerPATH configurations.
- Monitor, triage, and troubleshoot incidents within the Windows infrastructure.
- Create and configure clusters for both virtual and physical servers.
- Install, upgrade, maintain, and support Windows infrastructure components.
- Provide permanent fixes for recurring alerts and conduct root cause analysis.
- Maintain and support services and applications under the WIN team’s responsibility.
- Contribute to technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
- Enforce technical and security standards for WIN Infrastructure and services.
- Adhere to internal processes including SOPs, Golden Rules, ITIL, time tracking, and escalation.
- Collaborate effectively with global peers, sharing knowledge and participating in periodic meetings.
- Contribute to GTS Transformation at individual and team levels.
- Participate in on-duty, weekend, and holiday shifts as per support planning.
- Provide agent support for tools like Symantec, EDR, Qualys, Winlogbeat, and Zabbix.
- Gain exposure to Azure cloud technology.
Required Profile & Skills
- Extensive System Administration experience with Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/2019/2022.
- Proficiency with MS Cluster (2019/2022) and Veritas Cluster.
- Strong experience with VMware platform.
- Solid scripting skills, particularly with PowerShell.
- Understanding of basic ITIL framework concepts: Incident Management, Change Management, Capacity Planning.
