About the Role: Head of Engineering

This role focuses on backend excellence, ensuring the implementation of high-end engineered solutions. As the principal technical authority on all backend matters, you will lead the engineering team, define architecture, and drive best practices in a high-scale, innovative technology environment. This position is open worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Lead the backend engineering team and set technical direction.
• Define and implement backend architecture and best practices.
• Drive adoption of modern technologies such as Node.js, MongoDB, Redis, and AI.
• Establish standards for scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Review and approve critical backend design decisions.
• Mentor and develop backend engineering talent.
• Collaborate with other technical leaders for end-to-end integration.
• Research and evaluate new backend technologies and approaches.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required (Master's preferred). Applicants must have 8+ years of backend development experience and 4+ years in a backend leadership role. Deep expertise in Node.js, MongoDB, Redis, and other backend technologies is essential along with experience in applying AI/ML in production systems.

Preferred Skills

• Extensive Node.js production experience.
• Experience with MongoDB and Redis in high-scale applications.
• Proven experience with real-world AI/ML applications.
• Experience in fintech or similarly high-reliability sectors.
