The Solution Engineer Role
As a Solution Engineer at Snowflake, you will be instrumental in solving customers' most complex problems and driving large deals. You will collaborate directly with the sales team and channel partners, understanding customer needs, strategizing winning sales cycles, delivering compelling value-based demonstrations, supporting enterprise Proof of Concepts (POCs), and ultimately closing business.
We seek individuals passionate about revolutionizing the database space, who thrive in dynamic environments, and are flexible and proactive. You should be adept at navigating both business and technical contexts, comfortably engaging with executives and technical audiences alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Present Snowflake technology and vision to executives and technical contributors at prospective and existing customers.
- Work hands-on with prospects and customers to demonstrate and communicate the value of Snowflake technology throughout the sales cycle, including demos, proof of concepts, design, and implementation.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the evolving industry, competitive and complementary technologies, and how to effectively position Snowflake.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing teams to continuously enhance Snowflake’s products and marketing efforts.
Required Qualifications
- 4-7 years of industry experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a pre-sales environment.
- Outstanding presentation skills for both technical and executive audiences, whether impromptu or using formal presentations and demos.
- 2+ years of experience building and deploying machine learning and generative AI solutions in the cloud.
- Broad experience with large-scale Database and/or Data Warehouse technology, ETL, analytics, and cloud technologies (e.g., Data Lake, Data Mesh, Data Fabric).
- Hands-on expertise with SQL, SQL analytics, and Python.
- Ability to connect specific customer business problems with Snowflake’s solutions.
- Adept at deep discovery of customer architecture frameworks and aligning them with Snowflake Data Architecture.
- University degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related fields, or equivalent experience preferred. A Master's in Data Science or Business Administration is a plus.
- Experience with Global System Integrators (GSIs) such as EY, Deloitte, Accenture, etc., is beneficial but not required.
- Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time.
